I think I have ADHD
Everyone is sometimes forgetful and struggles to concentrate. There can be many causes – fatigue, anxiety, low motivation. Sometimes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can be the cause.
If for some reason you think you might have an attention deficit disorder you have several options for what to do:
- Get an attention disorder examination in Czechia. It is not possible to have such an examination on the CTU campus. It is carried out by specialist centres, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. However, waiting times for the examination can be months long and some specialist centres require a referral from a psychiatrist. One such centre is MY CLINIC. Check whether your insurance company will pay for the examination, as the person concerned often has to pay for the examination themselves.
- Consider having an examination in your home country. It is more likely that the examination will be covered by insurance and you may get an appointment faster.
- Make an appointment with the CIPS psychological counselling service to discuss helpful strategies for coping with the symptoms of possible ADHD and similar difficulties without a diagnosis.
- If you undergo an evaluation and the attention deficit disorder is confirmed, you can contact ELSA Support Centre and receive accommodations for your studies.
